INTERVIEW: Meet Richard Lynch

Richard Lynch is an American country music artist, who has compiled a long list of country hits and chart-toppers in the world of traditional country music. His single, “A Better Place” topped the New Music Weekly AM/FM country chart, the IndieWorld Country Record Report, and spent an incredible 32 weeks atop the Roots Music Report True Country chart, making it their #1 single of 2016. His next two singles, “We’re American Proud” and “Cut and Paste” also topped the charts. His latest release, “Back In Love Again,” a duet with the New Queen of Bluegrass, Rhonda Vincent, also reached #1 on the New Music Weekly (6 weeks) and IndieWorld country charts. His brand new single, “Country Music Isn’t Country Anymore” is shipping to radio on March 31, 2018.

Richard is a multiple­award­winning artist, the founder of the Love Tattoo Foundation for veterans, a farmer, and a member of the Independent Country Music Hall of Fame. Watch for his new TV show and radio program, “Traditionally Lynch.” He has appeared on RFD TV, WSM Radio and other high­profile media outlets.


When and why did you start playing? Which instruments do you play?

I play rhythm guitar. I was greatly influenced by my Dad a terrific guitar and vocalist who performed country music around our area.

What is your favorite song to belt out at the bar/in the car/for karaoke?

Oh I love singing Waylon songs

Is your family musical? Yes

Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?

Oh for sure, the classics, Jones, Frizzell, Conway, Cash, Twitty, stars like that

Was country the genre you were always drawn to and who are your musical influences?

Yes, I am a huge supporter of the traditional style of country. Hank, Patsy, Haggard, folks like that

What’s one thing you’d change about the music industry if you could?

Bringing country back to a more traditional sound and having TV & radio recognize it for it true historic value

Tell us more about your latest release “Mending Fences”:

I am very proud of this album. It has amazing songs from some of the best writers in Nashville and the engineering and production are top notch. It has also one numerous awards which is always gratifying.

You have recorded 3 studio albums with a true balance of songs that are amazing. Did you write them all yourself?

No, we have songs from a variety of amazing writers. Am excited, however, to have several of my originals recorded

What are your plans for the next year? 

Most likely we will do a new album. We will continue the production and development of our Traditionally Lynch TV and radio shows which is very exciting
