Has it always been your dream to act as well as be an entrepreneur? Or did one of those passions come first?
My passion for acting came first! I grew up on a small Huey family farm in New Lothrop, Michigan and graduated from New Lothrop High School Shiawassee County in 1997. I always had a special passion in my heart for acting. Ever since I can remember I always loved being in-front of a camera and taking photos. It was in seventh grade that my parents helped me develop my skills as an actress by providing me with the proper training I needed in Lansing, Michigan from 7th grade past my senior year!
Upon graduating high school I had the opportunity through my agent at the time to compete at an IMTA (International Model & Talent Association) competition in Los Angeles/Hollywood, California at The Westin Bonaventure where I landed my acting competitive auditions. I was accepted into The School for Film & Television AKA The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. It was the summer of 1998 that my parents moved me to New York City. I trained underneath some elite coaches/trainers in the entertainment industry such as Rawleigh Moreland, Beth McGuire, Joe Perce, Nancy Lushington and others.
My entrepreneurial skills have always been there too! My passion as an entrepreneur sarted in high school and college. In high school, I was a business major. In college, I was business major with a concentration in paralegal. I interned with The State of Michigan Tax Tribunal Lansing, Michigan working underneath Chief Deputy Clerk Marijo Walkey and Judge Thomas Hajlik before I graduated from Baker College in 2008.
A lot of actors I speak to very much have an entrepreneurial mindset in terms of creating their own work. I wonder, how does your entrepreneurial spirit overlap with your passion for acting?
My entrepreneurial spirit overlaps with my passion for acting because it gives me the freedom to be creative on certain film sets when you have to use acting on instinct. For me being an entrepreneur and actress fall hand-in-hand allowing me the opportunity to create my own work. When using acting on instinct you have to be creative thinking outside the box. And I am always brainstorming and thinking outside the box with my entrepreneurial mindset!
I’m sure there are many, but can you name one or two talents – past or present – that you dream of working with?
It is my heart to win an Oscar award for God in the near future through the art of story telling that offers an extremely powerful message of hope to the broken and hurting through film. It is my heart to reach and impact lives on the big screen through the art of story telling. I have an extremely powerful message to share that will bring healing to many.
I am truly thankful for my dear friend Michigan State Police Trooper Steven A. Kramer. Steven has given me the opportunity over the last 3 years to share my powerful journey with him. He has been part of helping me reach God’s best in my life and is part of witnessing this amazing journey God has given back to me. He is a gift and blessing from God.
From my past, it is my hearts hope and dream to work on a major motion picture movie set in the near future with actress Katie Holmes who was at IMTA in January of 1998 for one of my competition seminars with her team before Dawson’s Creek Aired on the WB Network.
From my present, I would love to work alongside my dearly talented friend and actress Jenn Gotzon Chandler. Jenn and I graduated in 1998 together from The School for Film & Television AKA The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. Katie, Jenn and I would be a powerful trio and the three of us could bring a powerful message to the big screen. A powerful redemptive message of hope that will win an Oscar!

You are also a fantastic role model for young women who want to chase more than one passion in their life. What would your message be to young people trying to make their way?
My message to young people trying to make their way in life is to always put God first no matter what you’re facing and NEVER give up the dreams, gifts or talents God has gifted to you. I didn’t always have the best support, the finances, the encouragement but what I learned along this journey is to put God first. I found when I did this God opened doors of opportunity and I walked through them trusting Him with my whole heart re-guard-less of what others thought of me. I knew where I stood with God in my life and what His word told me. God was my only source of strength.
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.
Can you give our audience any advice or input on how to be a light of hope for others as a female Entrepreneur, Actress, Speaker as you also serve in the Mission Field?
God wants you to be blessed.
When we honor God with our lives, our hearts and put Him first. When we do our best to keep Him first place, the scripture tells us in Deuteronomy 28:8 “The Lord will command the blessing on you”
When God commands, it’s not “maybe it will happen” or “I hope it will happen if or when the circumstances ever come together” or “ Hello God can you hear me?”
NO…When God commands there are no ifs, ands or buts. It will happen.
IT WILL HAPPEN DO NOT LOOSE HOPE!
What is the goal of The Rebecca M. Huey Mission Outreach?

To come alongside them. To help them back into society, live productive and prosperous lives.
If we could look five years into the future, what would you hope you were doing?
It will be my daily prayer that I am still reaching lives and helping others with what God has gifted back to me 5 years from now reaching great depths for Him.
