Kesha picked up the Human Rights Campaign 2016 Visibility Award, and it’s safe to say it was an emotional moment.
The HRC presented the songstress with the Visibility Award and during her acceptance speech she fought back tears as she thanked people for being so supportive of her:
“I’m going through some personal things that have been really intense,” she began. “Fame is strange and unnatural but I’m grateful for it.”
“My message today is don’t be afraid to speak up against any injustice you experience. Don’t let people scare or shame you into changing the things about you that make you unique”.
Kesha added: “We can’t be afraid to fight for our dignity. These are our basic human rights.”
